When we think about the scale of the ocean, there are those innovations that go wide, and those that go deep. Rewind knows depth: they are leveraging the depth of the Black Sea –  a place without much life because it’s naturally anoxic  – to permanently store carbon. 

• Why we love the founders – Ram Amar and his founding team are proven entrepreneurs who are letting their values lead their second career stage. They have all the skills and experience to achieve their mission. 
• What’s novel about Rewind’s tech – Rewind is building with radical transparency, and a careful eye towards the details of the logistics necessary to do CDR effectively. They’re using novel, but proven approaches to MRV to enable customers to understand where and how their carbon is faring two klicks below the surface. 
• Why we’re excited about this market – We believe carbon removal will dictate the next great commodity market. And we believe storage and scale are underfinanced. 
• How impactful Rewind could be – Rewind can store all the carbon we need to abate annual climate change in a tiny plot of the Black Sea.
