Nexxa.ai is augmenting the engineered transition.

Location: San Francisco

How we met: Old-fashioned cold call

Propeller theme: Ocean Industrials

Propeller investment stage: Seed

Nexxa.ai is building an agentic AI platform designed to modernize heavy industry’s legacy software systems—those decades-old, mission-critical tools that resisted automation. As the energy and climate transitions unfold, these automations and efficiency upgrades in engineering are critical. Nexxa’s platform blends computer vision, language models, and agents to interact with clunky UIs, mimic the workflows of human engineers, and unlock previously impossible productivity gains. For industries like rail, ports, shipyards, and lighting, Nexxa offers a way to automate the “last mile” of engineering work without requiring expensive and disruptive software replacements.

  • Why we love the founders – Philipp Wehn and David Huang (DH) are relentless, and complementary. Philipp has deep expertise in industrial strategy, while DH is a seasoned cybersecurity and infrastructure engineer.
  • What’s novel about Nexxa’s tech – Traditional Robotic Process Automation, Business Process Management and Intelligent automation tools crumble in fragmented, visual environments. Nexxa’s multi-agent architecture can “see” and interpret engineering logic, and operate directly within legacy software. It’s as if they’ve built a digital intern who learns from observing real engineers, then graduates into a fully autonomous colleague.
  • Why we’re excited about this market – Industrial engineering remains stubbornly manual. And yet it touches a vast, horizontal set of use cases across an-under duress workforce. It is a market, ready to be unlocked.
  • How impactful Nexxa could be – By accelerating infrastructure retrofits and reducing engineering cycle times, Nexxa could help unlock billions of dollars in stalled projects—including climate-critical transitions. Their vision for “Agent-Augmented Engineering” could become as foundational as ERP or CRM in the industrial software stack.
