We’re excited to share that Rodrigo Prudencio has joined Propeller as our Managing Partner.
Rodrigo’s experience in climate focused venture capital and public policy spans more than 20 years. Most recently, Rodrigo was a cofounder of Amazon’s $2Bn Climate Pledge Fund.
Rodrigo brought some excellent “narwhal” swag to our most recent Ocean MBA.
We spent several months getting to know Rodrigo and with each session, the Propeller team grew more convinced he’d be a great fit for our mission. His depth of knowledge in venture capital and climate nicely complement our experience and networks while Rodrigo’s commitment to climate solutions and positive energy are right at home with our MO.
Here’s Rodrigo in his own words:
I’m thrilled to be joining the Propeller team to back the best founders building companies in the ocean-economy. I was most recently a founder of Amazon’s $2Bn Climate Pledge Fund where I led investments across several sectors including transportation electrification, aviation, and energy storage, and earlier ran the Alexa Accelerator program. Over my nearly 7 years with Amazon, I was responsible for over 40 investments. I began my work in venture capital at Nth Power, the first early-stage fund to focus on energy technology startups. I was also the founder of Shuddle, the first peer-to-peer car sharing service to launch with a focus on kid transportation.
Outside of work, I like to bike (and put more miles on two wheels than on four), and like to fly fish in fresh and saltwater. And if you give me 30 seconds I may share a bit about my passion for sourdough baking. I am excited to get to work with the Propeller team, our portfolio co’s, our LPs, our partners and the wider ocean-climate community.
More to come from Rodrigo before long. You can read more about Rodrigo’s career here or connect with him on LinkedIn.
